What is a Notary and when do I need one

Public notaries are barristers or solicitors who are given statutory powers at a national and international level to: witness documents. administer oaths. draw up and certify wills, deeds, contracts and powers of attorney.

Notarization is the official fraud-deterrent process that assures the parties of a transaction that a document is authentic, and can be trusted. It is a three-part process, performed by a Notary Public, that includes of vetting, certifying and record-keeping.

Both individuals and companies may require a Notary to certify documents such as bank statements and company constitutions that they intend to be used overseas.
